During the liquidation of the Jewish Ghetto on September 22nd 1942 and subsequent mass transportations to Treblinka concentration camp, Hersh Frajman hid 27 members of his family in the hidden shelters he made in this buildings basement. Hersh himself stayed outside the building in order to be able to provide them with food. After 23 days in which the Big Ghetto was destroyed, he successfully transferred all those hidden to the Small Ghetto. Out of the 27 people that were hidden, 23 survived the Holocaust. Hersh Frajman and his wife Rivka were murdered by nazis during the events that occurred in January 4th and 5th 1943.
